I want to welcome everyone to the official Web Site
for the German Shepherd Dog Club of Fort Worth.
I hope you will spend some time here with us and examine the information we have compiled for you.
I think our site will be helpful to anyone interested in purchasing a dog, locating a training class,
or just finding information on the German Shepherd Dog.
Our club was begun in 1954 and has been active in promoting the German Shepherd Dog for nearly 50
years. We have two AKC sanctioned shows each year and a lot of our time and energy is devoted to
that effort. We have club meetings every month with the exception of June, July, and December. We
have programs at each club meeting with a topic of interest to GSD enthusiast. We also have a club
picnic in June where we bring our dogs. We have a December Christmas party each year with an auction
to raise money for the club.
Our members make up a diverse group from all around the Metroplex. We have members active in
conformation showing, obedience, tracking, herding, therapy dogs, search and rescue, agility, and
schutzhund. We have several members who are active breeders as well as some that only occasionally
breed a litter.
We are fortunate to have very knowledgeable club members. If you are encountering a problem with
your dog, chances are one of us has already dealt with that very thing. We are always willing to
help someone with any problem you might experience with a health issue, training, showing, or
whatever you do with your dog.
We would be very happy to have you join us and become a part of the German Shepherd Dog Club of
Ft. Worth. We have meetings the third Thursday of the month at the Coors Distributor located at
Meachum and I-35 in Ft. Worth. If you have any questions regarding any of the information you find
on our site please e-mail me or any of the club members for additional information.
